Storage ideas for every home refresh

When the joy of decorating and hosting no longer feeds our passions, take January as the prime opportunity to take stock and renew the home ahead of Spring’s arrival. There are plenty of easy interior wins to banish the post-Christmas blues for the interior lover; a new pendant shade, a furniture move around to reinvent a room and styling lighter dried plumes when the festive foliage is packed away – but how about getting organized? It can be a lot of fun too, here three of our stylish Cox & Cox friends show us their storage gains, perfect for that January renew.

Good home office storage

Practical and stylish home office storage can be hard to come by or premium-priced, and if you have a penchant for vintage style the search can be even more challenging. Kerry Lockwood’s Iron Cabinet is a great storage solution for the home office - it is inspired by vintage filing cabinets so it comes with a bold Industrial iron finish and is complete with castor feet - great for manoeuvrability when changing your arrangement at home.

“My office was an open plan space in my last home, so this filing cabinet was a stylish way to hide the work clutter. It is a brilliant storage solution for any room as well as a statement feature for an office, the distressed black iron offers a bold raw industrial look. The drawers are a decent size so they’re great for filing important papers and essentials.”

Stylish laundry storage

A good style in functional rooms helps you focus on enjoying the everyday things - especially during the colder, darker months when jobs like the laundry are very much an inside task. Recently Grace Mandeville revamped her family laundry with several storage heroes, the Reeded Glass Display Cabinet, Rattan Laundry Basket, Standing Wire Storage Basket and Numbered Coat Hooks.

“I have managed to transform my utility room from a cluttered space to an organised one with the help of Cox & Cox. I absolutely love our cabinet to store everything from glass jars to our dehydrator to our coffee, our storage baskets store extra veg from our garden & currently, we’re using our hooks to dehydrate flowers for my sister's wedding next year.”

Storage for a bedroom home office

By its practicality and tapered Scandinavian-inspired design, the Bergen Oak Clothes Rail is a versatile storage addition for any home refresh. Susannah, @shnordic, sites spring as the time to revisit the classics in your wardrobe - those essential pieces that are key to it being workable and that save valuable time in the morning - what better way to display them than on a go-to freestanding clothes rail?

““The Bergen rail offers ample hanging storage and two racks for baskets and trunks, it works equally well next to the dressing table in the bedroom or beside the sink in the laundry. A good home essential, one your home will never grow out of, or not have use for...”
